Conrad Murray Guilty: Jury reads verdict while crowd surrounds court house

On Monday, the news was finally announced that Dr. Conrad Murray was in fact found guilty of involuntary manslaughter over the tragic death of Michael Jackson in June 2009 -- and some big-name celebrities are already starting to weight in. Check back, as this list will be updated -- for now, though, here is what we have via Twitter: Piers Morgan: "Whichever way you viewed the evidence, [Conrad Murray's] behaviour was clearly unethical for a doctor. Right verdict. [Murray] didn't deliberately kill [Michael Jackson], but his negligent actions allowed the death to occur." Ryan Seacrest: "You could hear one shriek in the courtroom as the verdict was read. Not sure if it was for prosecution or defense, couldn't tell. Big question is will conrad murray serve time? Judge has 20 days to sentence him, and can give him up to 4 years in prison" Both Nancy Grace and Dr. Drew are asking people to tune in to HLN for coverage.

The salary of Conrad Murray was revealed by the District D.A. David Walgren with his opening statements on Tuesday morning. The salary agreed upon Conrad Murray and Michael Jackson was said to be the sum of $150,000 per month. Including in his salary wasn’t just for the care of the superstar but also the requirement to travel to the O2 performances in London. This was a key point in the Conrad Murray trial as the prosecutor discussed greed. The total sum Conrad Murray of a $150,000 for twelve months would be almost $1,800,000 which is quite a bit more than the average cardiologist salary. According to the physician salary medium online, an average yearly salary of $398,034, this is over four times the average salary of a person who had the same job. Playing into the alleged greed that could part of the reason for the death of Michael Jackson, the opening statements shared how much money Conrad Murray received for his position. Whether this will be a deciding factor is up to the jury who is hearing the case.
